About SI

We help teams align on alignment.

SI Internal is a leading provider of meetings, policies, attachments, and deployments that did not happen. Founded in 2009 in a conference room that has since been double-booked, we now serve 412 people, all of whom are cc’d on this page.

Mission & vision

Our mission

To empower every person and every organization on the planet to schedule a follow-up.

Our vision

A world where every email has an attachment, every meeting has minutes, every policy is already in force, and nobody, under any circumstances, deploys.

Our values

Six values, laminated, displayed in every conference room, including the ones that do not exist.

Bias for action items

We move fast. Then we schedule a meeting to discuss how fast we moved, and agree to move slower, effective immediately.

Radical candor

We say exactly what we mean, as soon as Legal has told us what we mean.

Ownership

Everyone here owns everything. That is why nobody can find anything, and why the fridge has a Jira board.

Customer obsession

We think about our customers constantly, the way you think about a dentist appointment.

Default to transparency

We share everything openly. This page is fully transparent. Please do not read it.

We are a family

And like any family, we have quarterly performance reviews, a reorg every spring, and an uncle in Finance who will not approve the cake.

Leadership team

Eight leaders, one shared calendar, zero open slots.

Margaret Hollis, photographed moments after scheduling this photo.

Margaret Hollis

Chief Executive Officer & Chief Alignment Officer (Interim, since 2014)

Margaret has spent two decades building high-performing teams and has the calendar to prove it. She has led SI through four reorgs, three rebrands, and one offsite that is technically still going. She believes in leading from the front, from the back, and from a recurring 30-minute hold titled “Hold.” Outside of work, Margaret enjoys hiking, reading, and replying all.

Richard Okafor, standing in front of books he has expensed.

Richard Okafor

Chief Financial Officer

Richard brings 25 years of financial discipline to SI and has not let any of it leave. Under his leadership, SI cut costs by 40% by reclassifying coffee as capital expenditure and the interns as furniture. He approves every expense personally and requires a receipt for the receipt. He once expensed his own approval. He rejected it.

Elena Marsh, available for a quick chat (90 minutes).

Elena Marsh

Chief People Officer

Elena believes people are our most important asset, which is why she has them depreciated over five years. She designed our Unlimited PTO program and is proud to report that 100% of it remains unused. Her door is always open. It was removed during the open-plan conversion and is now in Facilities, also open.

Tom Becker, gesturing at a roadmap that has since been replaced.

Tom Becker

VP of Engineering (on call)

Tom has twenty years of experience shipping software on Fridays. He wrote our deployment policy (don’t), our rollback policy (someone else), and our incident policy (as discussed). Tom has been on call since 2018. Please do not page him. He is the pager.

Laura Lindqvist, contemplating the logo’s clear space.

Laura Lindqvist

Chief Marketing Officer & Head of Brand

Laura owns the brand, the brand guide, and the brand guide’s brand. Last year she rebranded the company four times in a single quarter, ending exactly where she started, which she calls “a full-circle moment” and the board calls “Q3.” She is fluent in English, Swedish, and Slide.

Kevin Park, arms crossed in alignment.

Kevin Park

Head of Strategy & Synergy

Kevin is responsible for the roadmap, which he replaced with a vibe map in 2024. He has a rare gift for seeing the big picture and an equally rare gift for not looking at the small one. Ask Kevin about his five-year plan and he will schedule a meeting to discuss it. The meeting is in five years.

Harold Grant, holding the only printed copy of the terms.

Harold Grant

General Counsel

Harold has reviewed every sentence on this page and approved none of them. He joined SI from a firm he is not at liberty to name, for reasons he is not at liberty to discuss, in a year that has been redacted. He would like to remind you that this bio is not legal advice, and neither is anything else he says, including “good morning.”

The Intern

Principal SRE · VP of Reliability · Fridge Owner

Joined Monday. Promoted to SRE by Tuesday. Now owns production, the roadmap, the on-call rotation, and the office fridge. Still waiting on a badge, a laptop, and a second day of onboarding. Reports to: production.

Board of Directors: pending (since 2019). Org chart: available as a flowchart; nobody may exit the loop.

Our story

  1. 2009Founded in Conference Room 4B, which does not exist.
  2. 2011First “quick question.” It is still going.
  3. 2014Launched Unlimited PTO. Days taken since: 0.
  4. 2016Created the Change Advisory Board. Its own approval is pending.
  5. 2018Pivoted to blockchain, then to AI, then back to AI, without changing anything.
  6. 2020Went fully remote. Productivity rose 30%, so we investigated.
  7. 2023Returned to the office, so everyone could join remote meetings from closer together.
  8. 2026Effective immediately.
